Mr.Farid Ahmad Swaleh was appointed to KMFRI Board of Management by Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary via Gazette Notice No 4350 of 3rd May 2019 to sit as a member.

Mr. Swaleh is an astute businessman with a wealth of experience in Transport and Logistics and building and construction.
He has provided clearing and forwarding services for different clients majorly in Mombasa from 1992 to 1994 before venturing in transport and logistics sector in 1995, where until today he has a major interest.

Mr. Swaleh has served in key positions in several political outfits in the country since the KANU era in 1990’s where he was the KANU Youth Wing mobilizer, Mombasa. He has also served as a regional coordinator for some of the major political parties in the country. Some of the courses he attended include; training on corporate ethics, investments, negotiation, career development, time management, branding and soft skills as well as cost estimation and tendering from National Construction Authority (NCA). Other courses include contract administration, from the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) and leadership and corporate governance.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Swaleh was the director of Kenya Shipping Line Agencies.

His appointment will run for a period of three years.Gazette
