• Field research activities in support of marine study and conservation programs (Fish UVC, marine invertebrate surveys) and monitoring activities on various aquaculture activities: seaweed farming, Artemia research.
• Environmental and social impact assessments with regards to exploitation of marine resources such as the introduction of mariculture activities & sustainable utilization of marine resources.
• Development of mariculture activities along the Kenyan coast.
• MSc. In Marine Environment and Resources (2016)
• BSc. Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (2014)
• Scientific Diving
• Certificate in Aquaculture
• Certificate in Marine fish hatchery techniques
I have been involved in the use of underwater activities in support of biological study and conservation programs, including monitoring, collecting and characterizing identification and abundance data on invertebrates and fish species. Research interests are in fish biology and ecology and applications to marine biodiversity and conservation as well as the development of aquaculture tools for the marine environment. I have just completed a MSc Marine Environment and Resources under the Erasmus Mundus EU scholarship grant 2014 -2016, with my thesis taking advantage of the use of molecular tools in studying the reproductive cycle of a marine fish.
