Some of the notable projects I have participated in are the LVEMP (Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project) I and II in Kisumu [including a study on the impact of LVEMP micro-projects on local communities]; WIOMSA [including a study on the climate change impacts on mangrove dependent coastal communities] and KCDP (the Kenya Coastal Development Project) [including a baseline study on the status of Post-harvest technology along the Kenyan coast]
• Over the past two years I have been involved in providing introductory instruction to interns and students on attachment at KMFRI on the topics of Fisheries Marketing, Value Addition and Research Proposal writing
• In 2009, I received a Young Scholars research grant from OSSREA, which enabled me conduct a research study investigating the perceived socio-economic impacts of climate change on the population of Kenya’s Indian Ocean island of Faza
